{"id":2306,"date":"2025-02-28T23:05:34","date_gmt":"2025-02-28T23:05:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/business.sbceo.org\/apportionments\/?p=2306"},"modified":"2025-02-28T22:44:09","modified_gmt":"2025-03-01T06:44:09","slug":"instructional-continuity-plan-guidance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/business.sbceo.org\/apportionments\/?p=2306","title":{"rendered":"Instructional Continuity Plan Guidance"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"postie-post\">Senate Bill (SB) 153, Chapter 38, Statutes of 2024, requires local educational agencies (LEAs) to adopt plans to ensure all students can access instruction during an emergency or natural disaster.<br \/>\nThe plans, known as Instructional Continuity Plans (ICPs), must be included in an LEA&#8217;s Comprehensive School Safety Plan<<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ca.gov\/ls\/ss\/vp\/cssp.asp\">www.cde.ca.gov\/ls\/ss\/vp\/cssp.asp<\/a>> (CSSP) by July 1, 2025. A school district, county office of education, and charter school must include an ICP in a locally-adopted CSSP to obtain approval of a Form J-13A<<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ca.gov\/fg\/it\/j13a.asp\">www.cde.ca.gov\/fg\/it\/j13a.asp<\/a>> waiver request beginning in fiscal year 2026-27.<br \/>\nIn response to SB 153, the California Department of Education has posted new guidance for LEAs to consider as they develop an ICP.
