\nGood afternoon,
\nThe purpose of this notice is to alert local educational agencies (LEAs) to a letter recently issued by the California Department of Education’s Expanded Learning Division regarding the required expenditure report for the 2023-24 Expanded Learning Opportunities Program funds. Please see a copy of the letter below for additional information.
\nReminder: Expanded Learning Opportunities Program Expenditure Report and Deadlines for Fiscal Year 2023-24 Funds
\nDear :
\nThe California Department of Education (CDE) would like to remind you about the critical deadlines regarding the expenditure of fiscal year 2023-24 funds for the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P).
\nCalifornia Education Code (EC) Section 46120 (d)(9)(A) requires each local educational agency (LEA) that received an allocation pursuant to subparagraph (B), or (C) of paragraph (1) for the 2023-24 fiscal year to report final expenditures to the CDE on or before September 30, 2025.
\nImportant Dates and Deadlines:
\nLEAs are required to submit an expenditure report to the CDE:
\n* June 30, 2025: Expenditure Deadline. All FY 2023-24 ELO-P funds must be expended. * Note: A previous letter dated June 6, 2025, referred to this as the “Liquidation Deadline.” The language has been revised to accurately reflect the correct term prescribed under state law. * July 1, 2025: ELO-P Expenditure Report Portal opens at 7:00am * September 30, 2025: ELO-P Expenditure Report due. The portal closes at 11:59pm
\nLEAs will submit the expenditure report by accessing the online portal: www2.cde.ca.gov\/elop<\/a>.
