Please forward this email to school districts and charter schools in your county.
The purpose of this email is to notify you that the California Department of Education (CDE) has sent an apportionment to the State Controller’s Office for payment. This apportionment, in the amount of $262,383,458, is made from the state General Fund in support of the Expanded Learning Opportunities Grant (ELO-G), established pursuant to Section 2 of Assembly Bill (AB) 86 (Chapter 10, Statutes of 2021) and amended pursuant to Section 34 of AB 130 (Chapter 44, Statutes of 2021) and Section 12 of AB 167 (Chapter 252, Statutes of 2021). The ELO-G funds are provided for purposes such as extending instructional learning time, accelerating progress to close learning gaps ad integrated pupil supports to address other barriers to learning.
The state General Fund amounts paid in this apportionment reflect the remaining state funds due to local educational agencies and state special schools. For more information about this apportionment, please go to the CDE web page at www.cde.ca.gov/fg/fo/r14/ipielo20result.asp where the letter and schedule for this apportionment are posted.
In order to be eligible for remaining federal ELO-G apportionments, LEAs must submit assurances and will also be required to submit quarterly expenditure reports to the CDE as federal ELO-G funds are subject to federal cash management rules and regulations.
Programmatic information for Expanded Learning Opportunities Grants is available on the COVID-19 Relief and School Reopening Grants webpage at www.cde.ca.gov/ls/he/hn/covidreliefgrants.asp.
