Please forward this email to school districts and charter schools in your county.
The purpose of this email is to notify you that the California Department of Education (CDE) has sent an apportionment to the State Controller’s Office for payment. This apportionment, in the amount of $1,099,680,598, is made from the state General Fund pursuant to Section 2 of Assembly Bill (AB) 86 (Chapter 10, Statutes of 2021) as amended by AB 130 (Chapter 44, Statutes of 2021) and AB 167 (Chapter 252, Statutes of 2021). The In-Person Instruction (IPI) Grants provide funding to support school districts, county offices of education and classroom-based charter schools for any purpose consistent with providing in-person instruction as specified.
Retention of funding apportioned to LEAs is contingent on meeting the criteria for in-person instruction pursuant to Section 2 of AB 86, as amended. Compliance will be determined during the annual audit process.
For more information about this apportionment, please go to the CDE web page at www.cde.ca.gov/fg/fo/r14/ipielo20result.asp where the letter and schedule for this apportionment are posted.
