Updated Attendance Accounting and Instructional Time Webpage

Hello,

You are receiving this message because you have subscribed to the Principal Apportionment (PASE) Listserv.

The California Department of Education’s School Fiscal Services Division (SFSD) has redesigned its web page on Attendance Accounting and Instructional Time. The updated page includes new resources and information based on current law, in addition to all the same information from the previous version. The page does not include any of the new proposals introduced by the Budget Act for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 (e.g., attendance recovery).

Please visit the newly designed web page at the following link: https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/it/

The revised pages have separate sections of guidance for school districts, charter schools, and county offices of educations, providing guidance on the following topics:

  • Requirements for Generating and Claiming Attendance Credits
  • Calculation of Average Daily Attendance (ADA)
  • School Calendar
  • Reporting Deadlines
  • Instructional Time Requirements
  • Form J-13A
  • Legal References

Additional materials are organized under the Resources tab:

  • Instructional time requirements
  • Frequently Asked Questions on Transitional Kindergarten, Dual Enrollment, Form J-13A and Independent Study
  • Official correspondence on instructional time and attendance accounting
  • Past webinars and resources by FY

If you have any questions concerning the instructional time and attendance accounting requirements, please email attendanceaccounting@cde.ca.gov.

Sincerely,

Principal Apportionment Section
