The California Department of Education is pleased to partner with the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC), the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of California, San Diego, to support schools and districts recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The partnership is conducting a survey about education recovery strategies and challenges utilizing Federal/State Stimulus Funding Resources. The survey responses will help the state to develop policies and programs to support schools and districts in utilizing these funds.

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has announced that, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from noon to 1 p.m., they will be hosting an office hour session for subgrantees to receive answers to questions about the Davis-Bacon Act requirements.
Davis-Bacon Act requirements may be applicable to certain project funded through Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) and Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) funds. As such, this office hour may be useful to local educational agencies (LEAs) using these or other federal funds for capital expenditures.
