Annual Organizational Meeting Requirements (INFO DUE NOV 15) and Certification of Signature Forms

Dear Superintendents, Charter School Administrations, and School Business Professionals,
Please see our updated Annual Organizational Meeting Requirements<sbasweb.sbceo.org/governance/board-authorized-signatures> for information, guidance, and timelines regarding the upcoming Annual Governing Board Organizational Meeting (Due Nov 15) and collecting Certification of Signature Forms (at the December Board meeting) for your organization. We have outlined the required STEPS 1, 2, 3, and 4 with due dates for you to follow for ease of use. We are copying your Executive/Administrative Assistants on this email communication to ensure a wide reach with this important time sensitive information for your upcoming December Board Meeting. Feel free to share this email and information with others at your district that may need this information. CHARTER SCHOOLS: Education Code 35143 requires the COE to ensure that school districts hold their organizational meetings within a specified timeline, but it does not speak to charter schools, therefore it is not necessary for charters to complete the organizational meeting survey. Should you have questions on organizational meeting or other governance-related requirements specific to your organization, we would encourage you to consult with your legal counsel and/or your organizational policies If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us [Amada Dulay adulay@sbceo.orgadulay@sbceo.org> at x5201] as we are here to help you with this process.
