Note: The new Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) funding is for afterschool and summer school enrichment programs, as described in Education Code Section 46120. The following information is only applicable to local educational agencies (LEA) eligible to receive ELO-P funding for classroom-based students in kindergarten (including transitional kindergarten) through sixth grade.
The California Department of Education (CDE) Expanded Learning Division is pleased to announce that the ELO-P Program Plan Guide has been posted on the CDE website at www.cde.ca.gov/ls/ex/documents/elopprogplanguide.pdf.
Local educational agencies must operate the ELO-P pursuant to the requirements in California Education Code Section 46120, including the development of a program plan. The program plan needs to be approved by the LEA’s Governing Board in a public meeting and posted on the LEA’s website.
Questions about the program plan should be directed to the Expanded Learning Division at expandedlearning@cde.ca.gov<mailto:expandedlearning@cde.ca.gov>. Questions about apportionments should be directed to the Principal Apportionment Section at PASE@cde.ca.gov<mailto:PASE@cde.ca.gov>.
