Budget Perspectives Workshop, Governor’s Budget, 2026-27<budgetperspectivesworksho.regfox.com/governors-budget-2026-27>

From Capitol Advisors: Revenue collection data so far has been positive, and as of now, we are significantly outperforming the revenue projections in the 2025-26 budget. Given Prop 98 dynamics, particularly expected maintenance factor and repayment of a $1.9 billion deferral, K-12 education stands to benefit in a major way if revenue collection continues the way it has for the first three months of the fiscal year. We’ll have more information when the Legislative Analyst’s Office releases their Fiscal Outlook within the next couple weeks.

Capitol Advisors will discuss proposed funding and programs in the Governor’s January Budget Proposal, as well as advocacy plans related to:

* Prop. 98 funding and restoring money owed to schools * Maintaining LCFF gains and critical ongoing programs * Funding, policy and implementation issues related to expanded learning, TK, universal meals, community schools, special education, etc.  * The political dynamics that will impact the Legislature’s consideration of the Governor’s proposal, including the midterm elections and the major statewide races in California

This workshop is provided at no cost and is presented by Capitol Advisors in collaboration with ACSA, CSBA, SSDA, AALRR and CLIMATEC.
