Storm-Related Damage

Good afternoon,
As you may already be aware, there are federal funds (Public Assistance Grant Program and Project SERV grants) and state funds (California Disaster Assistance Act) that may be accessed by your district or charter school to help cover the cost of storm-related damage to your school facilities, the removal of mud and rocks from your campuses and fields, and certain other personnel costs related to the storm and its aftermath. Schools impacted by the recent series of storms who need recovery assistance beyond insurance and other local means (local donations, county level assistance, or funds set aside in your budget for recovery) can apply for these funds through the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES).
The SBCEO would like to determine if your district or charter school experienced storm-related damage to your facilities due to the recent storms. Cal OES is asking that we complete an initial damage assessment form for our county. Could you please respond to me via this email to let me know if you did experience damage, or if you might have costs that you are considering applying for assistance through Cal OES? This information will assist us in providing that information and help us determine how we might assist you in the application process.
Thank you for your time, Debbie
