The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has opened the Wildfire Smoke Preparedness in Community Buildings grant.
* Targeted Funding: This grant specifically funds the “deployment of portable air cleaners” and HVAC upgrades. * The Deadline: The application window is short, with a “short fuse” deadline of April 15, 2026. * www.epa.gov/grants/wildfire-smoke-preparedness-community-buildings
? “The total estimated funding for this competitive opportunity is approximately $13,580,000. ? Funded projects will have up to a 3-year project period. ? Individual awards are expected to range from $350,000 to $2,500,000 total.” Request
1. Evaluate/Assess current classroom filtration to meet the 5 ACH standard. 2. Commit to meeting the CDPH and CDC 5 ACH standard as a district-wide health priority. Apply immediately for the EPA Wildfire Smoke Preparedness Grant to secure the federal funding needed to bring high-performance air purifiers to every classroom.
