CalPERS Payrate Reporting

Attached is CalPERS circular letter 200-014-24 Payrate Reporting for Classified School Members, reminding employers that payrates for Classified School Members must be reported based on a 40 hours per week, 2,080 hours per year, or 173.3333 hours per month salary rate. Please see the attached circular letter for examples of how to calculate the salary rate for employees whose rate is based on less than 2,080 hours per year. Failure to correctly report payrates results in inaccurate service credit accrual and inaccurate retirement benefits, as well as potential financial penalties for districts.
In addition, CalPERS provides a Full-Time Equivalent Pay Rate Calculator for Classified School Members on their website<www.calpers.ca.gov/page/employers/policies-and-procedures/compliance-in-compensation-reporting/fte-payrate-calculator> and Compliance in Compensation Reporting<www.calpers.ca.gov/page/employers/policies-and-procedures/compliance-in-compensation-reporting> resources.

Escape Production System updated

Hello all,

Please take note, as of 3/7/2024 . . .

…we have updated Escape Production to v24.01

* Mass Change Addons – The Import logic for Posting Addons from the Mass Change Addons activity has been updated. The new logic now matches the process of adding the same addon manually.
* Dual Retirement – Now, when calculating assignment earnings and retirement, the software will pick up the Plan Option for the Retirement Plan specified in the assignment to determine contribution and deduction to use.
Please review the Release Notes while logged into Escape. Click Online Resources > Release Information.

Escape Production Update

Hello School Business Professionals,
Last night, 2/29/24, Escape Online-5 (CA ERP) was migrated to a new operating system platform. An update also occurred to the apps used to launch Escape. Please be aware that the labeling has been modified as of 10am today, 3/1/24. There are three apps available to most users and the highlighted app below is the Escape Production app:
Some of you may have never seen Escape Online-6 before. If anyone is interested in using Online-6, please contact School Business Advisory Services for more information. There is setup involved.

Please Complete – Annual Financial Audit Contract

LEAs are required to file annual financial audit contracts for the upcoming fiscal year with our office by Apr. 1.
To file your audit contract, please complete the Auditor Selection Form<sbas.sbceo.org/docs/auditorselection.html> or Charter School Auditor Selection Form<sbas.sbceo.org/docs/charterauditorselection.html> and attach a copy of your LEA’s current audit contract. The completed form and a board approved signed contract must be submitted each year, even if the LEA has a multi-year agreement.
Please refer to the SBAS Audit Webpage<sbasweb.sbceo.org/reporting/audit> for access to audit forms and additional information regarding audit contracts, including auditor rotation requirements and required audit provisions.
